Katie Wieringa

Although Katie is a few years older than me, we have always been close. Over the years our bond has only grown stronger, especially through our annual girls’ trips. She is a confidant and I can always depend on her for wise, God-centered advice. She and her husband, Brian, model a strong, loving marriage, and I adore spoiling their four sons and getting my ‘farm time’ when I visit them in Sheldon, IA. As a CPA, she also provides financial and tax guidance, and in return I share my medical expertise with her, a perfect balance that has strengthened our bond even more.

Samantha Kroese

Samantha has felt like part of my family and felt like a sister to me since she started dating my brother Andrew in 2002 while attending Dordt University. It is hard for me to remember a time when she was not in my life. She balances her work as a secondary education math teacher with raising their three children. My annual trips to Houston, where we get to talk about books and lounge in the pool or go to the ocean, are a highlight of my year.

Lillian Kroese

Lillian and I share a name — her first name, my middle name, after my maternal grandmother. We also share a love for clothes, makeup, and all things girly. She is about to start her sophomore year in high school and is involved in the athletic training program, marching band, and is an accomplished Irish dancer. I have loved how our communication has been able to blossom since she got her own phone, and I look forward to continuing to see her develop into a lovely young woman full of grace, poise, and love for Jesus.

Tessa loves having fun and has such a spunky, joyful personality. She likes doing girly things with me during our time together, like our girls’ nights with movies, ice cream, and spa treatments. Baking and decorating cakes has turned into a tradition when I visit her, and when she comes to Iowa for Christmas, we decorate gingerbread houses. She is the first one to play games with me — Disney Codenames is our favorite! Tessa is heading into 6th grade and continues to develop her oboe skills, and is also an accomplished Irish dancer.

Son of the groom, bibliophile Sam Robinson enjoys competitive robotics and is exploring the Appalachian Trail. He starts 9th grade this fall.

Brother of the groom, Andrew Robinson retired this summer as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army. He has completed 400 more parachute jumps than his brother.

Brother of the groom, Bart Robinson was the eighth person to complete Idaho’s Centennial Trail. He currently employs many AI agents in support of American manufacturing excellence.

Best friend of the groom, Matt Nickens roomed with him at Princeton. He introduced the groom to Brazilian jiu-jitsu before it was mainstream.
